McDowell Street is a major one-way street traveling northbound through Downtown Raleigh. Together with Dawson Street, McDowell Street carries US 70/401 and NC 50 through the city, connecting Capital Boulevard and South Saunders Street. McDowell Street is separated into north and south segments by Hillsborough Street.
Route Description
McDowell Street carries three lanes throughout its entire route, carrying traffic due north from South Saunders Street to Lane Street. The only exception is a northeastern route between South Saunders and South Street.
