In-N-Out Burger, California's famous burger chain, serves some mighty fine hamburgers for reasonable prices. Because they are open late, it is a popular locale for students craving grease.

The In-N-Out in Placerville is a rarity: like 5 percent of other In-N-Outs, it does not have crossed palm trees on its location. The Placerville City Council voted 3-2 on October 2006 to deny In-N-Out the trees because they did not comply with city's landscaping plan; the city had previously refused palm trees because it felt they did not match Placerville's character.
