Objectives

  • Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
  • Provide for the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families

Children up to age 18 are eligible for admission to Shriners Hospitals for Children if there is a reasonable possibility they can benefit from the specialized services available. Acceptance is based solely on a child’s medical needs.

Services Offered

This hospital provides care for orthopaedics, burn care, cleft lip and palate, and spinal cord injuries. All four of these services are offered on a daily basis to those children who need it. To obtain these services, one can go to Shriners Hospital and be admitted. The hospital has 70 beds and will provide for those as long as they have enough room to do so.

The Northern California Shriners Hospital accepts volunteers:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.

  • You must attend a comprehensive orientation prior to beginning your volunteer position.

Donations

The generosity of donors is what enables Shriners Hospitals for Children to deliver life-changing medical care without placing burden on the families of our patients. There are many ways to give, from participating in one of our many fundraising events throughout the year, to creating a plan for giving. No matter how large or small, every gift to Shriners Hospitals for Children makes a difference in the life of a child.

The hospital provides personal fundraising for those families or friends who would like to raise money towards the hospital. Shriners Hospital is a non-profit organization focused solely on the health of the children and nothing more. This organization does not receive any funds from the government.
