Sierra Club Inner City Outings (ICO) is a community outreach program that provides opportunities for urban youth and adults to explore, enjoy and protect the natural world. We are the ICO chapter for the Sacramento, California, area. The goals of the program are to promote appreciation and protection of the natural environment through wilderness adventures and environmental education. We also want to create opportunities for personal growth and development by linking participants from different cultures, foster respect of self and others, and provide participants with outdoor skills training and leadership opportunities.

What does this mean? We take children and young adults who wouldn't otherwise have many chances to experience the outdoors on fun and educational outings such as hikes, camping trips, snowshoe and snowplay days, backpacking and nature walks.
