When the Galleria was built in 1985 and attached by walkway to San Lorenzo Park Plaza (originally built in 1962), a plaque was placed on the Galleria side declaring the new name of the center was Cooper Street Plaza. Currently, however, there are more signs on site labeled as the Galleria. Also, the San Lorenzo Park Plaza signs still remain, including one that is the title on the building's business directory.
The Cooper Street Plaza name did somewhat stick, and some also refer to the development as the Cooper Street Plaza Shopping Center.
