Rider Creek is part of the Corralitos Creek watershed. It flows two miles to join Corralitos Creek. Elevation is 427 to 130 feet above sea level.
History There are a few notable pioneers named Rider that may have had the creek (and adjoining road) named for them.
STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD, in 2006 confirmed Rider Creek, is identified as impaired by sediment on the 2002 Clean Water Act Section 303(d) list of impaired waterbodies. It is still listed as a probable site for steelhead run.
Rider Creek flows through residential and farm area. There is logging in the area.
