Historic Soquel Cemetery is located along Soquel San Jose Road just north of the town of Soquel, Santa Cruz County, California.

Founded in the 1850s, Soquel Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Santa Cruz County.  Many of the region's pioneer settlers are buried there. Land for the cemetery was donated by John Daubenbiss and John Hames, pioneer settlers of Soquel.

Sadly, the cemetery has fallen into disrepair in recent years.  Friends of Soquel Cemetery, an independent citizens group which is not affiliated with the owner of Soquel Cemetery, is working to see that it is better maintained.  Every tombstone tells a story, and a goal of Friends of Soquel Cemetery is to research those stories, preserve them, and help bring them to life through educational programs.  Established in 2014, the Friends are only just starting out on this adventure.

The cemetery was purchased by Temple Beth El of Aptos in July 2016.
