The restaurant features authentic Bavarian and German cuisine under the Redwoods in a Bavarian style chalet. Buffet night is on the first Thursday of the month and there is a yearly Oktoberfest celebration.

2008-03-23 19:40:34 This place is mediocre at best — extremely kitschy, terrible service, and staff that don't know their German food. I'll never go here again (except maybe for drinks, can't go wrong on the beer, and it would help me get over the decor). For good and pretty authentic German food, I recommend two San Francisco restaurants: Suppenküche (Bavarian, pricey) or Walzwerk (East German). Especially Walzwerk has great atmosphere, and has a real family-run feel to it. And yes, both have Underberg. ;-) JoFeuerstein
