Freespace, or [ freespace ], is a temporary collective art / play / civic / hacker space.
In June and July of 2013, the space temporarily existed at 1131 Mission Street between 7th and 8th St. The space began when Mark Zuckerman, Ilana Lipsett and Morgan Fitzgibbons were planning for the National Day of Civic Hacking and reached out to Ron Stolowitz, the owner of the building, to ask to use the space for the civic hacking day.
In September of 2013 planning for the next iteration of Freespace began.
