MAKING AWESOME

Making Awesome, is now located at 1009 Commercial Drive, inside the Railroad Square Art Park.  It is an offering providing space to anyone who has a project to work on but doesn't have the space and tools to do so.  The facility has a toaster oven turned into a soldering oven, a 3D printer, and a warehouse loaded with electronics, tools, and other gadgets.  People have their projects on tables, spaces, and talk with others about their ideas, getting advice, and offering suggestions on each others projects.  There are currently about twenty members.  Members pay a monthly fee, which allows the venue to be self-supporting.  They will be hosting NASA's 2013 International Space Apps Challenge this year.  This challenge brings in people who wish to take part in the 50 challenges posed by NASA as a citizen science initiative.  Our town is one of the smallest of the 75 cities worldwide taking part in the event.

The Making Awesome shop is open to the public on Wednesdays.  People can come in and use the tools, check out the space, and receive advice on their projects.  It's a place where people share their knowledge, their tools, and a helping hand.  It is considerd an incubator for people with different ideas.
