Born in Tallahassee, July 4, 1944. My great-grandparents were pioneers to this area. My mother's great-grandfather, John W. "Virginia" Smith, brought a special tobacco seed from Lunenburg County, Virginia to Gadsden County-travelling with family and friends by covered wagon. My father's great-grandfather, John Michael Morris-Devere, came from France to help found a community on Lake Lafayette as part of the Lafayette Land Grant.
