This downtown Chase bank was previously a Washington Mutual. It was originally a Home Savings of America branch. Washington Mutual merged with Home Savings of America and American Savings. The original Washington Mutual was demolished and turned into a Tiffany's jewelry store. American Savings used to occupy a building across from Barnes and Noble, however it was closed upon the bank merger. There are two ATM machines located outside of Chase. The bank is located next to Macy's at the edge of Broadway Plaza.

CVS Pharmacy began installing Chase atm machines in their stores in August of 2009. There is a Chase atm at the downtown CVS Pharmacy store as well as an atm inside of Target.

There are four other Chase bank branches in Walnut Creek. A brand new branch recently opened in December 2009 at Palos Verdes Mall near Rite Aid and Lunardi's
