LAMB, MURWOOD  

Murwood Francis Lamb was born May 30, 1913, in Simcoe, Ontario son of William Charles Lamb and Effie Gertrude Thompson. On April 6, 1938 Francis Lamb married Olive Mildred Simpson, daughter of David James and Anna (Craig) Simpson. 

Francis Murwood Lamb was identified as a soldier at the time of his marriage in 1938 and continued to be identified as a soldier at the time of the 1945 electors list when the couple was identified as living in Dunchurch. Murwood died in 1983 in Dunchurch.

Murwood and Olive (Simpson) Lamb had three children: Shirley Bonita Lamb (1940-2010) and 2 others (private)

Murwood was with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, 1st Hussars of London. The 1st Hussars received ‘battle honours’ at: Normandy Landing, Putot-en-Bessin, Le Mesnil-Patry, Caen, The Orne, Bourguebus Ridge, Faubourg de Vaucelles, Verrières Ridge–Tilly-la-Campagne, Falaise, Falaise Road, Quesnay Wood, The Laison, Chambois, Calais 1944, The Lower Maas, The Rhineland, The Hochwald and Apeldoorn
