Woodland Avenue and West Woodland Avenue together run east-west across the western half of Woodland. They form the first thoroughfare south of Kentucky Avenue, which is the northernmost thoroughfare in Woodland. Woodland Avenue becomes West Woodland Avenue west of North West Street.

Woodland Avenue

Woodland Avenue runs from North West Street to a dead end just west of Sutter Street (just short of East Street). It intersects Alder Court (which heads north only from Woodland Avenue), Stall Avenue (north only), Kale Street (north only), North Cleveland Street, Pride Alley, North Walnut Street, Freeman Street, Juneteenth Alley, North College Street, Lara's Alley (north only), Palm Avenue, Bruton Lane (south only), East Keystone Avenue (south only), Sutter Street (south only), and Sutter Alley (north only). Along the way, it passes by Freeman Elementary School and Beamer Park.

A short stretch of Woodland Avenue, between North College Street and Palm Avenue, has been planted with street trees by the city. The street trees here include the invasive weed species Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana) and four other non-native tree species: Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis), London Plane (Platanus × hispanica), Idaho Locust (Robinia × ambigua 'Idahoensis'), and Little-leaf Linden (Tilia cordata).

West Woodland Avenue

West Woodland Avenue runs from North West Street to County Road 98. It intersects Maryland Avenue (north only), Nevada Avenue (north only), Mariposa Street (north only), North Cottonwood Street, Cascade Street (north only), North Ashley Avenue, Sunrise Street (south only), and Burney Way (north only). Along the way, it passes by the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency and Woodland High School.
