County Road 98 forms the western boundary of Woodland. North of Main Street, it overlaps with Highway 16 and ends at Interstate 5. South of Woodland, it becomes Pedrick Road at Hutchison Drive west of Davis.
There is a separate, disjunct segment of County Road 98 north of Woodland. This segment begins at County Road 98A on the north side of Cache Creek (northeast of Yolo) and runs to a dead end in the farm fields about halfway between Zamora and Knights Landing.
The segment of County Road 98 that passes through Woodland overlaps entirely with County Highway E7.

South of West Main Street, County Road 98 along the west edge of Woodland continues to have many street trees planted by the city along the east side of it (the side that is inside the city limits). These trees include the invasive weed species Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana) and Purple-leaf Plum/Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera). The other trees planted along this stretch of County Road 98 are also non-native but not considered invasive. They include Red Maple (Acer rubrum), European Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata'), Chinese Hackberry (Celtis sinensis), Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba 'Sky Tower'), Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica), Canary Island Pine (Pinus canariensis), and Italian Stone Pine (Pinus pinea).
