There are occasional claims that Wyandotte was the home of actress Lucille Ball. However, it wasn't until she was four years old that she settled in Wyandotte and even then for only a short time.

Ball was officially born on August 6, 1911 in Jamestown, New York. Her family moved several times in her early years. Little is known, however, on where they lived before moving to Wyandotte or how long they stayed there, but her father, Henry Durrell Ball, died from typhoid fever on February 28, 1915 in Wyandotte. About as much is known as where they ended up next, although it is known to be back in New York state.

All this was long before she became well-known for starring roles on I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy. Locally, WJBK would've aired all three shows during their original CBS network runs.
