76 is a chain of U.S. gas stations owned by ConocoPhillips, which is no longer among the ten largest oil companies in the world. It was originally owned by Unocal, which merged with Chevron in 2005, but Unocal sold the rights to the 76 brand to Tosco Corporation in 1997. Tosco Corporation was then purchased by Phillips Petroleum, which merged with Conoco in 2002 to form ConocoPhillips. ConocoPhillips is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
