Highway 99 is a state highway that runs between Highway 36 in Red Bluff in Tehama County and Interstate 5 in Wheeler Ridge in Kern County. From north to south in the Yuba-Sutter area, it passes through Live Oak, Sunset, Lomo, Sullivan, Berg, Yuba City, South Yuba City, Bogue, Oswald, Abbott, Tudor, Wilson, Nicolaus, and Catlett. It is also often used for traveling to Sacramento in Sacramento County and Chico in Butte County.

Highway 99 partially overlaps with Live Oak Boulevard in Live Oak, Sawtelle Avenue in Tudor, Tudor Road in Tudor, and Laurel Avenue in Nicolaus. It intersects Highway 20 in Yuba City, Highway 70 in Catlett, and Highway 113 in Tudor.

From north to south, significant places on Highway 99 include Fruit Palace, 99 Travel Center, Fireside Restaurant and Sports Bar, Mallard Lake Golf Center, and the Highway 99 Bridge.
