Cholera outbreak in Kingstown - lasted into the following year

Kingstown Dispensary opened in Kingstown Avenue (Patrick St)

Hayes' Royal Hotel and Kelly's Royal Harbour Hotel opened

Anglesea Arms Hotel opened

Fiends Meeting Hall (Quaker), Monkstown commenced construction  see also 1837 and 1880

1833 December 17 .... Dublin to Kingstown Railway first passenger service.  Terminus at Old Dunleary.

Findlaters Irish and Scotch Whiskey Store opened

Kingstown Town Commissioners established under "an Act for the paving, watching, lighting, regulating and otherwise improving the town of Kingstown'.  KTC first meeting in the "Royal Hotel" (Hayes's?)

"Bill to amend Acts relating to Harbour of Kingstown" passed

Wesleyan Methodist Church Northumberland Avenue opened (rebuilt 1904)

Railway terminus moved from Old Dunleary to present position

Harbour Commissions empowered to establish harbour constables

Victoria Wharf built and named for the newly crowned queen

Mariners Church opened

Extension to Fiends Meeting Hall (Quaker), Monkstown to accommodate increased numbers

Royal Irish Yacht Club formed (This club was soon dissolved and became The Kingstown Boat Club, and eventually theRoyal St George Yacht Club)

Georges Street is divided into Lower Georges Street and Upper George's Street
