Charles Kirche, Sr. was caretaker at Pine Tree Point, a camp on Upper St. Regis Lake.

Mrs. Charles Kirche of Paul Smith's, after a two hours' battle on St. Regis Pond, finally landed a 31-inch lake trout weighing 10 pounds.

Charles D. Kirche

A Requiem High Mass will be offered at 9:30 a. m. Friday at St. Bernard's Church for the repose of the soul of Charles D. Kirche who died Wednesday morning at Mercy General Hospital in Tupper Lake. Burial will be in St. John's -in-the Wilderness Cemetery in Paul Smiths. A Rosary Service will be held at 8 o'clock this evening at the Keough and Son Funeral Home. Friends may call there today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p. m.

Mr. Kirche, whose home was at 75 East Pine Street, Saranac Lake, was caretaker of the H. L Pratt Camp on Upper St. Regis Lake for 51 years. Ht. also was a past president of the Brighton-Harrietstown Grange, and a member of BPOE Lodge 1508.

He was born July 21, 1883 in Greig, a son of John and Mary Buckingham Kirche. He was married in 1908 to Janet Moyer who died in 1937 and, in 1939, he was married to Elizabeth Albright who died in 1962.

Survivors are two daughters, Miss Florence Kirche of Hamilton, and Mrs Raymond Scanlon of Saranac Lake; a son, Charles Jr. of Paul Smiths, two grand-daughters; a grandson; one great-granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
