DAVD B. STERN DIES, SUNMOUNT

David B. Stern, 45, died at Sunmount Veterans Hospital at 12:56 this morning after a long illness. A lifetime resident of this area, he had been a patient at the hospital one day.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Margaret Stern of Saranac Lake; four sisters Mrs. Gladys Walewski of Chicago, Ill., Miss Zelma Stern and Mrs. Iris Kaslow, both of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Muriel Kelly of Long Branch, N.J. A brother, T-Sgt. Henry Stern stationed in France, also survives.

Mr. Stern was born in Lake Clear, August 3, 1912, a son of Isaac and Margaret Woods Stern. He attended schools in Saranac Lake. Mr. Stern was a veteran of World War II, having joined the army in 1942. He received a medical discharge after a year and a half of service and returned to Saranac Lake to recuperate his health. He resided with his mother at 20 Helen st. He was a member of the Gabriels Post of the Amerian Legion and the VFW.

The body will repose at the Fortune Funeral Home and funeral services have tentatively been set for Monday.
