Mrs. Whitman Dies, Former S. L. Resident
Mrs. Ella Mae Whitman, aged 70, died last Sunday at the Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone.
Funeral services were held on April 22 at the Sand Hill Community Church, with the Rev. Frank Parks officiating. Burial was in the family plot at Sand Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitman was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Walter Nutter of 13 Park Place, and lived in Saranac Lake for many years.
Her husband, Edward J. Whitman, who died in 1952, was the first driver of the ["Saranac Lake Fire Department"] horse-drawn fire truck in 1904.
She is survived by seven brothers and four sisters.
