Evet G. Baker

SARANAC LAKE — Evet G. Baker, 88, of 2 Merrill St., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1990 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

He was born July 28, 1906 in Plattsburgh, the son of George and Bertha (Phillips) Baker. He was a resident of Saranac Lake for the last 81 years and was employed at Ray Brook State Hospital for many years until his retirement.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Helen Seymour and Mrs. Hazel Baker, both of Saranac Lake; a brother, Darwin Baker of Carson- City, Nev. and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Clarence, died in 1980, and another brother, Clifford; died in 1989.

There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at Fortune Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Lowenthal, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in May.
