Mrs. Flora Baker

Mrs. Flora Baker 83, a resident of Saranac Lake for 75 years died Sunday morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital where she had been a patient since Sept 4.

Mrs. Baker was born in Scotia on April 2, 1879, a daughter of William H. and Phoebe Randlett Baker. She was married in Saranac Lake on Sept. 10, 1901 to J. Andrew Baker.

Mrs. Baker had been a member of the Saranac Lake Methodist Church for 66 years and also had been active in lodge work. She was past patron of Whiteface Mt. Chapter 106, Order of the Eastern Star; past royal matron of Zenith Court 65 and past district deputy grand royal matron of the Order of the Amaranth; and a member of Mt. Shasta Shrine of Jerusalem 11 [sic] of Glens Falls. She also was a charter member of Kiwassa Rebekah Lodge 32 and its past noble grand, and had served as district deputy president of the Franklin district of Rebekahs.

A daughter, Miss Ruby Baker, with whom she made her home at 19 Virginia Street, survives. She is survived also by a sister, Mrs. Peter N. Buckenberger of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Charles H. of Plattsburgh and Wilmer J. of Bradford, Conn.; two nieces and two nephews.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home beginning Tuesday An Eastern Star service will be held at 8 p. m, Wednesday and a Rebekah service at 8:30. Dr. Lionel R. Driscoll. pastor of the Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service at the funeral home at 2 . m. Thursday. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
