Gertrude Hugo Dies; Service Held Tonight
A service will be held this evening for Miss Gertrude Hugo, who died at 1 p.m. yesterday at the Saranac Lake General Hospital.
The service will be conducted at the Fortune Funeral Chapel by the Rev. James Erdmann, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Bridgeport, Conn.
Miss Hugo came to Saranac Lake for her health in 1906, and conducted the Gertrude Hugo Hat shop at 3 Broadway from 1913 to 1953, assisted by her sister, Maud V. Hugo, who passed away in 1953. Surviving are two brothers, George of Stratford, Conn., and Adam of Bridgeport. Conn., four nieces and three nephews.
Miss Hugo was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 106.
