James MacIntyre was a World War I veteran and a World War II veteran according to a military marker on his grave in St. John's Cemetery in Paul Smiths.  He was a son of Duncan and Wilhema Wriedt MacIntyre of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Lt James MacIntyre

James MacIntyre, of Saranac Lake, a retired Navy lieutenant with service in World War I and II, died Friday at the age of 91.

Mr. MacIntyre was a member of the Masons and of the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church. He was born Sept. 26, 1879 in Edinburgh, Scotland, a son of Duncan and Wilhema Wriedt MacIntyre. His wife, Mary Elizabeth, died in February of 1966.

Survivors are: his daughter-in-law, Mrs. George MacIntyre of Saranac Lake; two grandchildren, Mrs. H. James (Barbara) Shampine of Norwood and Lt. Peter MacIntyre with the Army in Vietnam: a brother, Robert, of San Francisco; and a niece, Mrs. Minnie Sweeney of Eatontown, N. J.

Friends may call at ttie Fortune Funeral Home where there will be a Masonic service at 8 o'clock this evening. The funeral service will be at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel Partridge officiating. Interment will be in May in St. John-of-the-Wilderness Church Cemetery at Paul Smiths.
