SARANAC LAKE - John L. Beardsley, 64, of 52 Broadway, died Wednesday morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital.
Mr.Beardsley was born April 2, 1915 in Saranac Lake, the son of John and Katherine Locke Beardsley.
He is survived by his wife, the former Eunice Webster, a daughter, Katherine [sic], of Saranac Lake, a stepson, Douglas Poole of Liverpool and a sister, Anne Atkinson, of Buffalo.
Mr. Beardsley was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake. He was a World War II army veteran. He had been employed by the New York State Armory for many years. He retired in 1977.
He attended Saranac Lake schools and Syracuse University. He had been a past commander and past county commander of the American Legion.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the Fortune Funeral Home. A veteran's service will be held at 8 p.m. The funeral will be Friday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Snyder, pastor of St. Luke's, officiating. He will be interred in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
