Mrs. Michael Leonard Dies Friday Morning After a Long Illness

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Church for Mrs. Margaret A. Leonard, 77, who died Friday morning at Ogdensburg after a long illness.

The body reposed at the Richer Funeral Home until Mondays service. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery at Norwood.

She was born in Ottawa, Ont.. January 13, 1880, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Freeman Fitzsimmons, and was married at St. Joseph's Church in that city in 1903 to Michael J. Leonard, they moved to Tupper Lake that same year and Mr. Leonard worked at Hemlock Ledge, on Big Tupper Lake, and for the past 40 years as caretaker at Swenson's Indian Carry camp on Upper Saranac Lake.

Mrs. Leonard had been in failing health for the past six years. Surviving, besides her husband, are one son, William E. Leonard of Norwood; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Row of Ottawa, Ont.; a brother. Joseph Fitzsimmons of Chicago, Ill.; two grandsons: and two nieces who were brought up in her home, Mrs. Vera Macaluso, now of Clifton, N.J., and Mrs. Hazel Mayotte of this village.
