Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. tomorrow in St. Bernard's Church for Oliver Duprey, of 10 Edward street, who died yesterday morning at his home following a stroke.

Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery. The body is reposing at the Keough Memorial Chapel until time of services.

Mr. Duprey was born in Hammondsville 78 years ago, the son of Syriac and Philomena Corwell Duprey. He had resided here for 60 years.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Alta LaRose, two sons, Horton and Clarence, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Marquay, all of Saranac Lake. There are also 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Members and friends of the Ray Brook Civil Service Chapter are invited to attend the recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. tonight, at the Keough Chapel. Father James of the Friary will conduct the service.

2012-09-29 18:10:35   This really helped me trace my ancestry. Rose (Duprey) Marquay was my Great-Grandmother. Syriac and Philomena were my great-great-grandparents. I have a photo of them that I can up load later. —138.163.0.41

  • Did you see our pages on Syriac Duprey, Jr. and Syriac Duprey, Sr.? I'm a little uncertain of the facts on Syriac Sr.'s page— things tend to get a bit murky when you have three generations sharing one name. We'd love to have any photos you'd like to share. Uploading them can be tricky— feel free to email them to me at [email protected]. Thanks.
