Pope Bay is a long, narrow bay near the south western end of Lower Saranac Lake. It was the site of Tent Platform Permit No. 733, belonging to the Malcolm A. Specht family, from 1939 to 1960, as well as Tent Platform Permit No. 1197, belonging to the John W. Gorgas family.  In 1963, Martha Reben and Fred Rice camped on Pope Bay for the summer. 1
