Cross Street and West Cross Street together run east-west across western and south-central Woodland (south of Main Street). Cross Street becomes West Cross Street west of West Street.

Cross Street

Cross Street runs from West Street to East Street. Situated south of Oak Avenue and north of Pendegast Street, it intersects the following streets in order from West to East:

  1. McKinley Avenue (north only)
  2. Cleveland Street
  3. Walnut Street (north only)
  4. City Trees Alley (north only; the alley is not officially named)
  5. Elm Street
  6. Dingle Lane
  7. College Street
  8. Bay Leaf Alley (north only; the alley is not officially named)
  9. 1st Street
  10. 2nd Street
  11. 3rd Street
  12. 4th Street
  13. Fifth Bliss Alley (north only; the alley is not officially named)
  14. 5th Street
  15. 6th Street

Along the way, Cross Street passes by City Park, Dingle Elementary School, and the Gable Mansion.

Cross Street has been planted with street trees by the city. Street trees planted on Cross Street include three invasive weed species: Purple-leaf Plum/Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera), Flowering Pear/Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana), and Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia 'Purple Robe'). However, they also include California Bay Laurel (Umbellularia californica), which is native to Woodland, and two tree species that are native to other parts of California: Modesto Ash/Arizona Ash (Fraxinus velutina) and Ponderosa Pine (Pinus ponderosa). Other non-native street trees on Cross Street include Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum), Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum), Camphor Laurel (Camphora officinarum), European Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata'), Chitalpa (Chitalpa tashkentensis), English Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata), White Ash (Fraxinus americana), Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba), Goldenrain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica), Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera), Chinaberry (Melia azedarach), Black Tupelo/Sour Gum (Nyssa sylvatica), Chinese Pistache (Pistacia chinensis), London Plane (Platanus × hispanica), Scarlet Oak (Quercus coccinea), Holly Oak (Quercus ilex), Little-leaf Linden (Tilia cordata), Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia), English Elm (Ulmus minor 'Atinia'), and Saw-leaf Zelkova (Zelkova serrata).

West Cross Street

West Cross Street runs from West Street to County Road 98. Situated south of West Lincoln Avenue and north of West Southwood Drive, it intersects California Street, Summertree Lane, Community LaneCottonwood Street, Daniels Street, Connor LaneAshley Avenue, Fairview Drive, Wildwood Way, and Meadowood Court. Along the way, it passes by the Woodland Cemetery, the Boys & Girls Club Woodland Branch, Castro Anita, and Noble Halal.
